Vasif Namazov is the visionary architect behind Alpagut, a martial art that stands as a testament to the enduring strength and wisdom of Turkic heritage.
Vasif Namazov was born in 1981 in Baku. He has been actively involved in martial arts since childhood, specializing in traditional combat systems and modern competitive sports. His journey led him to explore the deep interconnectedness of physical prowess and cultural identity.
In 2014, after years of research into ancient Turkic fighting methods, nomadic warfare traditions, and historical manuscripts (such as the Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk), he unified these techniques into a cohesive modern martial arts system. He named it "Alpagut," reviving a term that embodies the lone hero's indomitable spirit.
Under his leadership as the Founder and Chairman of the Board, the World Alpagut Federation has grown to include dozens of national federations worldwide. He is a recipient of numerous international sports awards and recognized as a Master of Sports. His work focuses on the intersection of sports science, history, and international diplomacy through culture.
He has successfully integrated Alpagut into major international sports councils like TAFISA and ICSSPE, ensuring that Turkic martial traditions are represented alongside the world's most established disciplines.
