As part of an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, a delegation from the World Alpaqut Federation (WAF) was received by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Adkham Ikramov. The meeting, held at the Ministry, focused on the development prospects of the Alpaqut martial art in the Central Asian region, organizational matters, and potential avenues for bilateral cooperation.
On behalf of Uzbekistan, the meeting was attended by Minister Mr. Adkham Ikramov and Deputy Minister Mr. Shakhrullo Makhmudov. The World Alpaqut Federation was represented by Honorary President and Board Member Mr. Farid Alizadeh, Chairman of the Board Mr. Vasif Namazov, Vice President for Development and Research Mr. Tural Abasquliyev, and the Federation’s Authorized Representative for Asia, Ms. Alfiya Kalmaganbetova.
During the discussions, the parties reached a preliminary agreement on the establishment of a national Alpaqut federation in Uzbekistan and the creation of a regional federation that would operate at the Asian level. The meeting also addressed broader regional cooperation, the promotion of sports diplomacy, and strategies for increasing international recognition of the Alpaqut martial art.
The meeting was held in a sincere and constructive atmosphere. At the conclusion of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation presented a traditional Alpaqut Chapani as a commemorative gift to Minister Ikramov. In return, the Minister presented gifts to the Federation representatives. The meeting concluded with a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
